L for LOVE!

"L" - Selina Fenech

Well it's been a week and this is how much I have completed in the L sampler letter by Selina Fenech. I have decided to continue the Letters as a work project. The big blocks of colour make it easier to work at when you are required to frequently stop and start. Plus I want to get these finished ASAP and I can't wait the 13 weeks it will take to come back into my rotation. Although, I have used a sparkly Aida fabric I don't think it pops as much as it should. So I have bought the sparkly version of DMC 819 and will do a bit of the dreaded frogging on the pink background. I tried just using the sparkly on the top cross only to avoid frogging but it looks weird. But I will do this on the black letter and put another round of crosses on the border in some sparkly thread. The colours aren't very vibrant so had to add my Bling Princess touch.

Now for this weeks rotation it's Faces of Faery 88 by one of my fav artists - Jasmine Becket-Griffith. Below is the before pic. I have the next 4 days that will be devoted to craft and just a bit of cleaning when I need a little break so I'm hoping to get page 1 and 2 completed. As you can see I'm doing them simultaneously as there are big chunks of skin colour and parking was not required with this project. Makes it faster to stitch the 2 pages together. I'm loving the green in her eyes it really sets off all the purple in the background and the purple dragon that will be coming along soon.

Have an awesome weekend everyone. Good luck with your stitching or whatever will be filling your time. Just remember to always find time to do something you love no matter what!

Love the title picture - it hits you right between the eyes....in a very good way....much like yourself....have found another blogger who does just samplers....that it what I am going to do next (not sure whether it is before or after Titania but will see). I found the cross stitches that I started just after Noah got off the ark....am going to put them on the blog and may one day finish them....the ABC may be for a grandchild.....??!!

  2. Oh please do Titania first. I am dying to see how that turns out. Maybe you should start it now and give me a fighting chance to win our competition. Yeah I remember when Noah's ark docked. I think that was when I bought my first chart too. LOL! Don't worry I'm starting Hannah's birth sampler and she is going to be 3 on boxing day. We are not alone on this Mrs. D. But it's fun so wahooo!!! xo

  3. I must say I keep getting the Titania thingy out of my bag and sort of stroking the cellophane wrapping and trying to decide if I want to do all that background stitching.......Bloody Hell !!!!!! And as you say it would give you a fighting chance if I were doing about 16 different things all at once wouldn't it?? But I will have to wait until Spotty or Lincraft have a sale or a VIP customer special to buy all that bloody DMC

  4. There is a ebay shop that sells DMC very cheap if you buy in bulk, I'm assuming Titania has at least 90 colours so maybe you can get it there. I will find the name of the shop and get back to you. It's funny how we are cut from the same cross stitch fabric - I keep doing the same thing with VIVA. Thanx again for such an awesome chrissy present. xoxo

  6. Merry Christmas Sister of the Thread....and many more. We will stitch up a storm in 2011....wait till you see the beautiful Wedding Sampler I have ordered from England...and it was on special (can't beat that!!) After 20 years of wedding anniversaries it is very difficult to think of something to give the husband (well something that needs wrapping anyway) so I thought a beautiful sampler, stitched by his beautiful wife - what man could not be happy with that....I can rationalise anything purchase!!!!!!

Hello Stunner! Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I hope it made sense as I can rave on lunatic style when left unchecked. Any comment is appreciated and thank you for taking the time and brightening my day! xoxo
