IHSW - October

Hey stunners!!!

I actually participated in the IHSW this time round instead of just intending to and I almost managed a page finish!

I currently have some family from overseas staying with me so it's a little hard to disappear into the Entertainment/Craft room and stitch. Which mind you is all I want to do at the moment.

I worked on Faery 2 for the IHSW, this is page 2 and a bit of page 3. I'm still not happy with the level of detail as I thought the Castle would be absolutely enchanting but it looks a bit blobby to me.  But it's a lot of fun to stitch. And let's face it stunner's  with a 46 wip rotation and 31 of them considered to be BAP's (big ass projects) then I'm going to have to be content with the journey rather than the final destination, LOL! I'm going to make this one of my 4 focus pieces for HAED BAP's.

HAED had a recent 50% off sale so of course this Princess had to stash enhance!!

Dana Dragonheart who is HAED's newest freebie fairy recently visited my WL and sprinkled some fairy dust on it and Treasure Hunt Bookshelf by Aimee Stewart appeared in my email inbox!

I was so surprised and so excited as I really really wanted this chart. I even downloaded the floss chart and started collecting the threads whilst waiting for the next sale to come so I could buy it. I guess it was one of those situations where if you wish and love something long and hard enough, it appears in your life. So thank you Dana Dragonheart you are a star!!!

Once I get the fabric she will be a new start, woo hoo!

Speaking of new starts I have 15 planned. I will reveal them as I go! Once these new starts are worked into the rotation, there will be no more new starts until I get some finishes in. (smirk)

However, my next post will be of my Guardian Angel progress, plus Kim and I are working on our SAL piece Rose Cerise this month. So I will post progress pics on November 1st.

Happy Halloween!

This year I will be going as a witchy-poo! I managed to find a pink silk witches hat which even came with a fascinator covered in plastic lil spiders and a spider web cape...so cool!!

I know what most of the people are gonna be dressing up too. #drunk #funny #ecards #Halloween

  4. Hey Alicia. Wow you got a mighty amount done, congrats. I think that this is the case with nearly all HAED's up close they look all blobby and splodgy but once you step back you can see the detail. I think the picture from a little further away makes it look absolutely beautiful. I love your choices of charts, great mix. More new starts? Yipee can't wait to see them :)

  12. Hi, I just discovered your blog a couple of weeks ago, and thru you doing A Coign of Vantage discovered Golden Kite :) soooo I've been trawling thru GK's site and have found a few patterns I love so am ordering them. I loved A Coign of Vantage too after seeing your start and was about to order but it doesn't say whether it has blended threads or solids and to ask them, but it does say it has 156 (I think) colours. I was wondering if you would mind telling me how many colours your chart has as if it's the same, it would probably mean the pattern they are selling now is the same? No worries if no :) I also just wanted to say I love your blog. I'm a serial starter as well, and I love seeing all your projects. I love Aimee Stewart too so can't wait to see your new start! I'm Joy by the way, and from Tassie, I don't have a blog as I stitch way too slow. If easier my email: windypoplars132@yahoo.com.au Thanks so much.

    1. Hi Joy
I tried sending you a reply via email but I kept getting notifications that the email was unable to be sent as you don't have a yahoo account. Which is weird, I copied and pasted your address in the address line so if what you have written above is your correct email then I don't know what the problem is. But here is the answer to your question anyway stunner.
I ordered the K247 full kit and it has 156 colours and 79 of those are blended. The kit comes with 18ct white aida fabric and DMC Mouline Special threads pre-sorted on labeled cards. I would say it's the same chart as I checked the site and the order number is the same. Thanx for you lovely comments and for dropping by. Always great to hear from new people. xo

    2. Thanks so much for replying, I thought the colours looked so beautiful in your stitching in the GK version. I'm sorry about the email, I tried setting up a new name for my account and it obviously hasn't worked. My account that definitely does work is joynewett@yahoo.com.au. I had never heard of GK b4 seeing on your blog, and have just gone thru their whole site (which took ages) and there are 5 charts I'm going to buy now including A Coign of Vantage. It's going to be a huge Christmas present to myself as they are soooo expensive, but I just can't bear not to get these ones. Of course there are others I love as well lol. Thanks for the info, Marcus responded quickly and said the pattern had 156 Colours and 79 blended. It's great to know it's the same as your's as I love love the colours blends in yours, and wanted to get the same version. Thanks again, and will follow your blog to see all ur progress on all ur wips :)
